My friend, Kitty, has convinced me that I need to start blogging, so here goes. I used to do a lot more "creative" writing - - - seems I don't really have the opportunity or reason to do so these days. Most of my "writing" these days consists of grants and reports - really exciting stuff! I can't promise that I will update this blog every day, but I will do my best.
Last night, Kitty (who is actually Kristin. . .more on how she earned the nickname "Kitty" at a later date) and I met our friend Michelle for dinner. We have all been friends since elementary school. There are not a lot of people that I actually stay in contact with that I went to school with - Kitty and Michelle are the only ones that I really see on a regular basis. At dinner last night, Michelle had brought along some notes I had written to her when I was in high school that she found while she was doing some organizing/cleaning - - these things were definitely creative writing at its best! I had to laugh out loud at some of the things that were "noteworthy" when I was 16 years old. It was entertaining to read about some things that were actually a big deal when I was in high school. Funny how your perspective tends to change over time, isn't it? It was also amusing to me to realize that I would perhaps have done better in chemistry if I had paid more attention to the lesson, and was less focused on my notewriting.
So this one is for you, Kitty. Thanks for giving me an excuse to write notes again :)
